DESCRIPTION: After thriving as a popular tavern in the mid-1800s, the original structure was moved to the present site of the Emerson Inn and extensively reconstructed in the early 1870s. The building reopened as the Hotel Edward, a “luxurious, modern hotel…” complete with a “chauffeur hall and a fireproof garage for 30 cars.”
This one-story granite structure, which subsequently became apartments, is now extensively reconstructed into 4 luxury condominiums on three levels as shown here.
